Home > Fences > Things to Consider When Choosing a Fence
Here are some features to keep in mind when choosing a fence. At Forefront, we
include the icons shown with each fence style that this feature applies to.
Cost
- Economical, average, premium
- Price is affected by fence style, materials, and site conditions. Our price tags let you know the relative cost of your selection.
Security
- Out of sight, out of mind. This means that your fence is hard to climb and difficult to see through. As such, it will offer a degree of security for your children, your pets, and your property. Remember, the higher the fence and closer the fence boards, the greater the security.
Ornamental Fencing
- When you see this symbol, it means that you are "fencing with feeling". These styles offer decorative enhancement to your home and will contribute feeling and design, to function.
Neighbor Friendly
- Exchange a few friendly words on a summer day. These fence styles will define your property boundaries and still let you talk freely with your neighbor. They are similar in appearance from both sides..an important consideration when you are trying to either, split the price, or keep the peace with your neighbor.
Privacy
- Suntan or sing while you garden. When you see this symbol, you know that you are free to do it without the chuckles of nosy neighbors or the whispers of mischievous children from the other side of the fence. Remember, increased fence height and closer board spacing will create greater privacy.
Materials
- Although some regional differences occur, spruce, pressure treated and cedar materials are the most common materials used. They can be combined to create the perfect balance between cost, appearance, and durability. Talk to one of our sales team for the straight goods on your choice of woods.
